American Medical Response

American Medical Response (AMR) has been a cornerstone of the West Michigan healthcare community since 1952, providing essential mobile medical services to Grand Rapids, Holland, and the surrounding regions. As part of the Global Medical Response (GMR) family, the facility combines national clinical expertise with a dedicated local staff. They serve as the exclusive ambulance provider for major regional venues such as DeVos Place and the VanAndel Arena, and support local athletic teams including the Grand Rapids Griffins, Gold, and Rise. The facility specializes in a broad spectrum of medical transportation, ranging from 911 emergency response and Basic Life Support (BLS) to Advanced Life Support (ALS) and high-level Critical Care transports. Their Critical Care units are essentially mobile intensive care units, equipped for neonatal and pediatric specialty transfers. AMR West Michigan is also recognized for its community involvement, including its 'Earn While You Learn' program which trains local residents to become EMTs, and the 'Tomorrow Wall,' a tribute to cardiac arrest survivors revived by their teams. What makes the facility unique is its Ambu-Care membership program, which helps over 20,000 West Michigan residents manage the costs of emergency transport. In addition to transport, they offer extensive certification and continuing education courses for medical professionals and the public, reinforcing their role as a leader in emergency medical education and public safety within the Kent, Ottawa, and Allegan county areas.
