An Important Message from the Alliance AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE ALLIANCE AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE ALLIANCE Dear Friends, For decades, the Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina has been a lifeline for people living with, or impacted by, HIV/AIDS - providing compassionate and non-judgmental prevention, critical support services, and connection to care to help our community thrive. From free HIV/STI testing to support groups, home-delivered pantry services, and PrEP referrals, we've been there, meeting people where they are, with dignity and love. But today, our future is uncertain. Due to recent changes in government leadership, much of our funding is now at risk. In order to keep essential services going, we’ve had to make difficult shifts in our budget. As a result, we were forced to suspend our pantry delivery services—a vital lifeline for many—and say goodbye to the amazing staff who made that program possible. Now, with promised federal funding in limbo and our contract already reduced and delayed, we’ve had to make another heartbreaking decision: furloughing our incredible Prevention Staff until our contract and funding is released or we can raise the resources needed to bring them back. This is just the beginning of what could become a devastating loss for our community. And so, we turn to you. We cannot continue this work without your support.
