Actively involved in teaching, advising and mentoring students, Dr. Martinez serves as chief, vice chair of education, assistant clerkship director and assistant clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Martinez is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics as well as other professional organizations. Dr. Martinez earned her medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She also earned a master’s in health ethics at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebr. Her clinical training includes an internship and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla., where she was exposed to a high volume of maternal and reproductive health cases, including normal and high-risk deliveries and individuals from vulnerable populations.
