From basic education to a safe haven, to a multitude of life-changing programs, Southmountain has remained a solid rock for children and families. From our beginning, we have helped to create positive social skills, acceptable behaviors, and enhanced lifestyles. “Providing Pathways” is more than our mission statement, it’s our mantra. Our professional and dedicated staff help children and families overcome desperation, despair, and devastating trauma. Headquartered in Morganton, NC, Southmountain Children and Family Services operates the State’s first and only foster community. Situated near Lake James SCFS also serves families and children through our Children’s Advocacy Centers serving 16 counties in North Carolina. Our goal is to give children and families hope for their futures and the opportunity to experience success, accomplish their personal objectives and fulfill their dreams.
