Aging Services For Communities
Aging Services for Communities (ASC) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was established in September 2004 through a grant from the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging. Initially, their services included Caregiver Support & Respite Services and a volunteer-driven transportation program. Over time, they have expanded to include Homemaker Services provided by paid staff and, as of 2025, adult companion caregivers. The agency's mission is to provide professional services to adult seniors, and individuals with disabilities, along with their families, to enable them to remain living independently in their own homes. They are licensed by the state of Minnesota and are fully insured and bonded. ASC offers a range of non-medical services designed to support daily living and well-being. Their transportation service assists clients who are unable to drive to medical, dental, and mental health appointments. The homemaker program provides assistance with tasks such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and grocery shopping. In addition to these core services, they also offer companion care to alleviate loneliness and provide socialization, as well as respite care to offer short-term relief for primary caregivers. The organization serves numerous counties in southern Minnesota, including Le Sueur, Rice, Scott, Waseca, Brown, Dakota, Nicollet, Steele, and Blue Earth counties. They also provide community classes on topics like 'Stay Active & Independent for Life' (SAIL) and 'Living Well with Chronic Pain'.
