Who We Are Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency (MPCAA) is one of 23 Community Action Programs in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, serving the core counties of Bullitt, Shelby, and Spencer. Founded as part of the national Community Action movement established by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, MPCAA works to help individuals and families improve their daily living conditions and achieve long-term stability. Community Action is about real people, volunteers who give their time and resources, families who find pathways out of poverty toward self-sufficiency, and dedicated staff who inspire and support lasting change. MPCAA provides a wide range of services to adults age 60 and older, low-income individuals, and at-risk families. Incorporated as a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, the agency is governed by a volunteer board of directors. With more than 50 years of service, MPCAA remains committed to identifying community needs and developing effective programs to meet them. Through its diverse services, the agency promotes self-sufficiency and independent living, empowering individuals and families to build on their strengths and achieve their own success.
