The New Jewish Home is a non-profit senior healthcare system that has been serving the New York community since 1848. Originally established as the B'nai Jeshurun Ladies' Benevolent Society for the Relief of Indigent Females, it has since grown into a comprehensive organization serving older adults of all faiths and ethnicities. It operates across three campuses in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester County. The Manhattan campus, located at 120 West 106th Street, is a 514-bed skilled nursing facility that also functions as a teaching institution affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The New Jewish Home provides a wide range of services, including short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing care, and adult day care. The facility is known for its specialized programs, such as the Center for Advanced Rehabilitation Medicine, which is affiliated with the Mount Sinai Health System, and a Cardiac Rehabilitation Center partnered with NYU Langone Health. It was the first skilled nursing facility in New York State to receive Joint Commission Certification for heart failure. The organization also offers a variety of home care programs through its Solutions at Home service, allowing seniors to receive care in the comfort of their own homes. The New Jewish Home is committed to a person-directed approach to care and is accredited by Comfort Matters for its dementia care program.
