Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Hospice

Aaron-Ruben-Nelson (A.R.N.) Hospice is a non-profit end-of-life care provider situated on the Hooverwood Living campus in Indianapolis. Formally established in late 2021, the hospice was named to honor the multi-generational legacy of the Aaron-Ruben-Nelson family, who have been pillars of the Indianapolis Jewish community since 1935. As the only Jewish-sponsored hospice in Indianapolis, it is grounded in the life-affirming values of Judaism—prioritizing dignity, comfort, and compassion—while maintaining a dedicated mission to serve patients of all faiths and backgrounds throughout Central Indiana. The program offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to end-of-life care, addressing the medical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients. The care team consists of specialized physicians, skilled nurses, social workers, spiritual counselors, and trained volunteers who collaborate to honor the individual preferences and goals of each patient. A.R.N. Hospice is unique in its integration with the Hooverwood senior living community, allowing for seamless transitions for residents while also extending its specialized services to patients in their private homes or other healthcare facilities. Services are designed to maximize quality of life through advanced pain and symptom management and holistic therapies. In addition to clinical care, the hospice provides extensive bereavement support and spiritual guidance, ensuring that both patients and their loved ones receive continuous support throughout the final stages of life and beyond.
