She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Find more about her at: https://www.beyondcounselingmn.com/ I’m Jennie Bata, a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). My journey began on a rural farm in Northeast North Dakota, where I was inspired by my grandmother and aunts, whose nursing passion for caring deeply shaped my path. Over the years, I’ve progressed through every stage of nursing — from CNA and LPN to RN (ADN and BSN), ultimately earning my credentials as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice. Early in my career, I gained valuable experience in long-term care and surgical nursing, with a focus on orthopedics and neurosurgery. After becoming an FNP, I spent 14 years at North Dakota’s Life Skills and Transition Center, where I provided primary/psychiatric care for individuals dually diagnosed with mental illness and intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. During this time, I developed a strong foundation working with individuals on the autism spectrum, gaining insights into how to support their unique strengths and challenges.
