To ensure a safe experience for all visitors, access is currently limited to one open gate, and the lot size has been reduced, although all front-row and channel parking remain available. Please remember that park hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and entering outside of these hours may result in a citation. We appreciate your feedback and your help in deterring the reckless behavior that led to the initial closure. Because staffing is minimal during the off-season, we ask that you report any reckless driving, off-roading or vandalism directly to local law enforcement. Holland State Park is best known for sugar sand beaches, beautiful sunsets and views of the iconic "Big Red" lighthouse. The park is home to two large campgrounds, an accessible playground, opportunities for paddling and fishing, and connections to nonmotorized trails. The state park consists of separate Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan units on the northern side of the channel connecting Lake Macatawa with Lake Michigan. A boating access site with a fish cleaning station is located 1 mile east of the park.
